Artist Statement
I've painted for as long as I can remember - as a child I wanted to "paint a little and fish a little" when I grew up.  

I enjoy painting everyday items, places I have been and events that I have witnessed or experienced.  As an artist I hope to capture the light that reflects off those items, the memories of those places and the emotions of those events.

My paintings are more realistic in style and some have often been mistaken for photographs.  The very tight and controlled brush strokes of my earlier paintings have given away to a more loose and defused stroke.  I'm enjoying the looser brush strokes and agree that the "eye can render better than the hand".

I usually paint in oils but have recently experimented with acrylics.  My paintings vary as I continue to grow as an artist and I look forward to many more years at the easel.
